Introduction
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh weather update for the coming days. According to the forecast, farmers and citizens in many parts of the country need to stay alert, as heatwave conditions are likely to continue in Central and Northwest India till 29th April, while heavy rainfall is expected in the Northeast till 27th April.
Heatwave in Central and North India
Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, and parts of Maharashtra may face very hot weather in the coming days. Temperatures in many areas are expected to rise above 42°C, with some places touching 46°C.
Heatwave days are expected to persist in several regions, with extreme temperatures likely to impact daily life and agricultural activities. In West Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, the heatwave is expected to continue till 29th April. Meanwhile, states like Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Gangetic West Bengal are likely to experience these intense heat conditions till 26th April.
Heavy Rain in Northeast India
States like Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura may receive continuous rainfall till 27th April. Some places in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam may experience very heavy rainfall.
Storm, Lightning, and Hailstorm Alert
There is a risk of hailstorms in Jharkhand on 27th April, and strong thunderstorms with lightning are expected in parts of Assam, Bihar, and North Karnataka. These conditions may damage standing crops, trees, and power lines.
Western Disturbance in the Himalayas
From 24th April, parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand may receive light rain and thunderstorms. This may help slightly reduce temperatures in those regions.
